About Bender Enterprises:

Mike Bender started Bender Enterprises Inc with a vision: to provide innovative, effective, and affordable solutions to the technological problems facing auto theft and fraud investigators.

Mike earned his Bachelors Degree in Administrative Criminal Justice in 1980, but his interest in auto theft began in 1974 when he attended his first auto theft seminar. He graduated with honors from the Los Angeles Police Academy in 1978. He served the LAPD and then the SVPD, his final assignment being that of Auto Theft Detective. In 1991 he joined the National Auto Theft Bureau (NATB) which later became the NICB. Mike has been a California licensed Private Investigator since 1982. He has qualified as an expert in many counties throughout California in auto theft detection, prevention, identification, and investigation.

Today Mike is considered an international expert in advanced/alternative vehicle identification, and sport compact vehicle investigations. Among the numerous aspects of vehicle theft and fraud, his expertise includes bypassing transponder equipped vehicle ignitions. He has worked with, trained, and coordinated investigative activities with auto theft task forces throughout the country. Mike continues to travel throughout North America speaking and assisting in proactive operations. He has acted as consultant with local and national media on topic of street racing providing technical assistance to CBS, NBC, MTV and Dateline on programs dedicated to this theme.

He has developed and written advanced software for use in bar code scanners to enhance the capabilities of investigators to identify suspect vehicles. Mike was awarded Auto Theft Investigator of the Year by the Western States Auto Theft Investigators Association.

He has given training extensively on the topics of alternate methods of vehicle identification and street racing at annual training seminars of the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators; Western States Auto Theft Investigators; Texas Auto Vehicle Theft Investigators; Arizona Auto Theft Investigators Association, Colorado Auto Theft Investigators association, and many other conferences and training seminars.
